TED returned to a live stage again this spring in Vancouver, BC (April 10-14, 2022). The conference theme was "A New Era" and there were some pretty amazing talks and ideas.

Teen twin brothers run all-electric, solar-powered lawn care business 07/13/2022

Two of our Cape Elizabeth High School students were selected to speak about their solar-based, renewable energy lawn care business, Solar Mow, at the April 2022 TEDxYouth@CEHS event.

Dimitri and Philip Coupe (rising seniors) have since been interviewed for a front-page article in the Portland Press Herald newspaper (July 5, 2022).

Teen twin brothers run all-electric, solar-powered lawn care business Three years ago, Dimitri and Philip Coupe launched an all-electric lawn care business called Solar Mow. Today they're up to 30 customers and continue to grow.

In April (2022) we produced our 5th TEDxYouth@CEHS event at Cape Elizabeth High School. It's been quite a ride. The Pandemic dashed our hopes in 2020 so we were thrilled to have a live show this past spring. Depke is a Cape Elizabeth alum who’s the manager at Big Sky Bread, just over the bridge in Portland. He has reached over a year of sobriety and is finishing up his degree at USM.

Next up for session 3 is speaker Jess Shaps!

Shaps was a ballerina until the age of 18, when injury and pressures on mental wellness overwhelmed her. But, she overcame her struggles and eventually returned to the world of dance and learned what it meant to be an artist.

Our next speaker for session 3 tomorrow is Sammy Potter!

Potter completed the Calendar Year Triple Crown in under a year - a total of nearly 8,000 miles of rugged terrain. He is currently attending Stanford in California but is originally from Maine.

Williams (ey/they/she) is a Black multiracial nonbinary su***de survivor and is currently the seventh poet laureate of Portland, Maine. Ey has spoken at numerous venues across the nation.
