Good morning, Dr. Michael,
We have come to the end of our journey together, and it is definitely bittersweet! I’m not sure what we are going to do with all of our time, but I am positive that we will stay connected to Mariner in some form or fashion!
As a proud parent, I can honestly say that Mariner High School has been so much more than a school to our family. It has been a community, a village, and a place where my children have grown, found themselves, created memories, and built lifelong relationships.
For more than 15 years, the Hunter family has had the privilege of being a part of the Mariner story. My boys have certainly made their mark. Between them, I think they covered just about every sport Mariner had to offer! Precious found some of her very best friends and favorite teachers within the Triton community.
Beyond the sports, classrooms, accomplishments, and activities, what I treasure most is the legacy my children have built there. They are all college educated, soaring into their futures, and carrying with them the lessons, friendships, and memories they made as Fightin' Tritons.
Mariner taught them that high school is about more than earning a diploma. It is about finding your people, discovering your gifts, being challenged to become better, and becoming part of something bigger than yourself. Those friendships and connections will stay with them long after they leave those halls.
When our grandbaby Aria is ready for high school, there is no question where this family will want her to be. We would choose Mariner High School without hesitation. We want her to experience the same sense of community, belonging, friendship, and opportunity—and to keep this Hunter legacy alive as a Fightin' Triton.
Ryan…what a journey! After everything he endured with his spontaneous pneumothorax, the fact that he was able to have his own exclusive graduation walk with you is a memory our family will cherish forever. That moment was so much bigger than a graduation walk. It represented resilience, love, community, and the determination to make sure Ryan got to experience a milestone he had worked so hard to reach.
Thank you, Dr. Michael, for being a part of our family's journey from the very beginning, more than 15 years ago. You have been there through so many chapters of our children's lives, and that means more to us than you know.
Keep being the warm spirit you are to everyone who crosses your path. Continue making people feel welcomed, valued, and seen. Please know that we are proud of YOU, and we are incredibly grateful that your story became a part of ours.
The Hunter family may be moving into a new chapter, but our Triton chapter will never truly end.
