🇨🇦 A few fun facts about Montreal before we get to the food…

• Montreal is the largest city in Quebec and the second-largest city in Canada.
• It’s built on an island in the St. Lawrence River!
• French is the official language, and you’ll hear both French and English throughout the city.
• Montreal was founded in 1642, so there’s nearly 400 years of history packed into this city.
• And perhaps most importantly… Montreal is a FOOD city. 😋

Here are 3 stops we loved:

🥪 Schwartz’s Deli
You can’t visit Montreal without trying a famous smoked meat sandwich! Schwartz’s has been serving its iconic Montreal-style smoked meat since 1928. We ordered ours piled high with mustard—and yes, it lived up to the hype!

🥮 Chinatown – Hong Kong-style pastries
We wandered through Chinatown and stopped at Pâtisserie Harmonie for some delicious Hong Kong-style treats. Think egg tarts, pineapple buns, steamed buns and plenty of things we couldn’t resist trying! Honestly, alllll the restaurants in this area looked delicious!

🍴 Time Out Market Montréal
This was the perfect stop when everyone wanted something different. Located downtown, Time Out Market brings together a whole collection of Montreal restaurants and food vendors under one roof. The hardest part? Deciding what to eat!

Montreal gave us history, adventure, culture… and A LOT of good food. 🇨🇦❤️

❤️ 🇨🇦 No, we didn’t drive our RV to Europe, but it sure feels like we did!!! Old Quebec is easily one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to and we had so much fun exploring today. ❤️ 🇨🇦

Our walking tour was with Cicérone | Visites & Tours . We loved the costumed guide, his stories, and all the history we learned along the way.

If you grew up dreaming of raspberry cordial, kindred spirits, and adventures with a little red-haired girl named Anne Shirley, then Prince Edward Island needs to be on your bucket list! 🍓

Lucy Maud Montgomery was born in 1874 in Clifton, Prince Edward Island, and raised by her grandparents in Cavendish. The island’s beautiful landscapes, wooded trails and rolling countryside inspired her writing. In 1908, she published Anne of Green Gables, introducing the world to Anne Shirley, whose story has since become a beloved classic read around the world!

Here are 4 places every Anne fan should visit! 👇

🏡 1. GREEN GABLES HERITAGE PLACE – CAVENDISH: Step right into Anne’s world! Explore the historic farmhouse that inspired Green Gables, wander through Lover’s Lane and the Haunted Wood, and discover the gardens and exhibits dedicated to Montgomery.

📸 Tip: Allow 2–3 hours and arrive early during summer! Rangers offer guided tours year round.

📖 2. L.M. MONTGOMERY’S BIRTHPLACE – NEW LONDON: Visit the home where Lucy Maud Montgomery was born! See historic photographs, personal memorabilia and exhibits about her childhood and literary journey.

🎭 3. CONFEDERATION CENTRE OF THE ARTS – CHARLOTTETOWN: Experience the magic of Anne of Green Gables—The Musical™! First performed here in 1965, this beloved production brings Anne’s story to life through music, theatre and colourful costumes.
📸 Tip: Book tickets in advance, especially during summer! The show now runs every other year.

🍓 ANNE OF GREEN GABLES MUSEUM – PARK CORNER: Explore the historic Campbell Homestead, known as Silver Bush, filled with Montgomery memorabilia, beautiful gardens and views of the Lake of Shining Waters. You can even enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride!

🧡 🩵 We just spent 4 AMAZING days camped Holiday Haven Campground just outside of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and these are the things we did that you absolutely don’t want to miss if you travel here with teens! (The last one was my favorite.) 🤩

1. Go Downtown: visit the pier for photos and history, St. Durston’s Basilica, and the Parliament House. We created a little DIY walking tour and read fun facts and history at each stop. Save time for souvenir shopping and geocaching! 🥾 🗺️

2. Visit the Anne of Green Gables Chocolates shop: What better way to wrap up a walking tour?!? There are several locations. All the shops have samples of their famous cow chips (potato chips dipped in chocolate) set out to try! 😋 🍫

3. Get ice cream at COWS: a famous ice cream shop on the island. It’s an old fashioned family recipe still made with fresh cream, farm eggs, and 100% PEI local milk. Their ice cream truly is the most creamy, delicious treat - and a must try! 🍦 🐮

4. Go Deep-Sea Fishing: Did you know that this area is known as the “Tuna Capital of the World”? People come from all over to try their hand at deep sea fishing - so we did too! We came up short (don’t bring bananas on the boat! 😂 🍌) but had so much fun and learned a lot. Many charters are available. We went on a morning half day trip with Off The Hook Deep Sea Fishing and loved it! 🎣 🛥️

5. Hit the beach: Prince Edward Island beaches are known for their deep red dirt. It’s created from the high iron content and can stain clothing. So why not try to stain a shirt on purpose?? A white cotton t-shirt, rubber bands, large plastic bag, and some red dirt mixed with ocean water is all we needed to create our own tie dye shirt using the dirt. Well, that, and not being afraid to get a little messy. 😝

6. Play Pickleball: Any pickleball fans out there? If so, the Atlantic Pickleball Club is where you want to be! This indoor facility recently opened and has 9 gorgeous courts. Fun fact, we met Jonah, pictured here with us, on the KLOVE cruise playing pickleball! 🥒

7. Eat Seafood: There’s some amazing food on Prince Edward Island … continued in caption 👇
