🤝 Good neighbors make great teammates.

This Monday, September 28, is National Good Neighbor Day. In Sports Medicine, we know no one moves forward alone. Better care takes people who listen, support one another, and work together.

So let’s put teamwork into action with the Next-Level Neighbor Challenge:

Reach out. Pitch in. Pass it on. 💛

Reach out to someone you haven’t checked on lately. Pitch in with one small act of kindness. Then pass this challenge to a friend, teammate, classmate, or neighbor.

You don’t have to agree on everything to show up for each other. Sometimes unity starts with a simple, “How can I help?”

Tell us how you’re taking the challenge in the comments, or share this post and invite someone else to join you. Let’s fill our feeds—and our communities—with a little more encouragement.

Together, we’re Driving Healthcare to the Next Level. 🚀

🏃‍♂️ Spread PEACE & LOVE—And Evidence-Based Care ❤️

In Sports Medicine, we believe a little PEACE & LOVE can go a long way.

For acute soft-tissue injuries, the conversation has evolved from rest and ice alone toward an active, evidence-informed approach that emphasizes protection, education, appropriate loading, movement, and exercise.

PEACE in the early phase.
LOVE through recovery.

It is a reminder that healthcare is more than treating an injury—it is educating, encouraging, and helping people move forward with confidence.

Our students are learning to spread PEACE & LOVE while applying the most current evidence-based practice in sports medicine.

Because better care starts with knowledge, compassion, and a commitment to keep moving healthcare forward.

Imposter syndrome tells you what you can't do.

Your values, mission, vision, and goals remind you of who you are and where you're going.

As part of their professional portfolios, our Sports Medicine seniors are developing a clear understanding of what they stand for and what they hope to accomplish throughout their careers. By focusing on purpose and direction, they can spend less time doubting themselves and more time growing into the healthcare professionals they're meant to become.

That's how we help students Drive Healthcare to the Next Level. 💛🖤

Sorry for the dad joke, but this is a real challenge.

Many people in healthcare, from students to experienced clinicians, struggle with imposter syndrome. That nagging voice that says you're not ready, not qualified enough, or don't belong.

The Southern Miss Sports Medicine Program is committed to Driving Healthcare to the Next Level, and that starts with developing confident, purpose-driven professionals. That's why our seniors are creating their personal Values, Mission, Vision, and Goals as part of their professional portfolios.

By identifying what matters most and defining the impact they want to make, they're learning to focus on purpose instead of fear, and growth instead of doubt.

We're incredibly proud of the hard work these students have invested in their education, professional development, and future careers. Every step they've taken has prepared them to make a difference and demonstrates what it means to Drive Healthcare to the Next Level.

As they prepare for the next step in their journey, we want them to remember that confidence isn't about knowing everything. It's about trusting the work you've done, staying true to your values, and continuing to grow.

Don't be an Impasta.

Be intentional. Be prepared. Be confident.

🚑 Future healthcare professionals. 💪 Future leaders. 🩺 Future difference-makers.

Year One = NEXT LEVEL ✅

Dr. Chris Gleason — better known as Dr. G — just wrapped up his first year as Sports Medicine Program Coordinator, and let’s just say… he didn’t waste any time.

From adding new student credentials to helping make history as part of the first 4-year institution in Mississippi approved as an NREMT training site, Dr. G is truly, "driving healthcare to the next level."

And the recognition followed:
🏆 Coursera Innovative Teaching Mini-Grant
🏆 Alumni of the Year – College of Nursing & Health Professions
🏆 AI for Social Good (Coming Spring 2027) 👀

Plus, a shoutout at the Ready for Life Awards.

Not bad for Year One!

But the real question is...
👉 What will Dr. G grow next?
👉 What will this program win next?

Stay tuned. 🚀
