From dough to map! 🗺️ Our 4th graders brought the map of California to life by creating their own maps with salt dough and then painting them. This much-anticipated 4th Grade tradition helped students better understand the geography and features of our state while making learning creative and memorable! ⚡️

These Little Lightning are having a blast in their outside classroom! 🌟

Our PreK students love making the most out of their own outdoor space, whether it’s watering their garden, enjoying snack and lunch time together, or engaging in hands-on activities to reinforce lessons taught inside.

Having a dedicated outdoor area gives our youngest Lightning room to move, discover, explore, and learn every day!

Our 3rd grade scientists experimented with motion and force, testing how a cotton ball, golf ball, and ping pong ball responded when air was pushed through a large syringe.

By observing, comparing, and then discussing together, they learned hands-on how objects with different sizes and weight can be moved with just some air! Way to go, Lightning!

Today was our first Family Groups of the school year! 8th graders did an excellent job leading their new Family Group for the first time as they got to know each other and enjoyed a small picnic outside.

We’re excited for our 8th graders to participate in this St. Lucy tradition as Family Group leaders, and for this special and much-anticipated monthly get-together!

Today, the St. Lucy School community came together to remember September 11.

As part of honoring this day, our Little Lightning PreK students created their own American flags, 3rd graders reflected on the heroes in their own lives, and our entire school community gathered together for a Patriot’s Day Mass. The Mass, led by 5th Grade, was a meaningful service of unity and remembrance.

It’s sunflower week in PreK! 🌻 Our Little Lightning planted their own sunflower seeds, discovered what it takes to make them grow, and learned about the sunflower life cycle through hands-on projects.

We can’t wait to see how tall their sunflowers grow!

Last week, we celebrated the installation of our 2026-27 Student Council!

During Mass, we gave a special blessing to this group of student leaders as they begin a year of service, responsibility, and making a positive difference in our school community. We look forward to all they will accomplish this year! ✨
