Jayden wanted to download the Super MARIO 64 game onto his Wii U. I didn’t think he’d be to interested in it but I downloaded it anyways to see what he would do with it. So he started becoming frustrated within the first 30min of playing and I thought he would give up on it. Nope he was determined to find a solution to his problem on the game. He went on YouTube and looked up how to get through the area he was struggling with. So I learned something with all this. When I thought he was just playing an old video game he was actually working on his logical thinking and problem solving skills along with researching a topic. Learning comes in all types of forms. We are conditioned to think you can only learn with worksheets and books among other traditional ways. It’s amazing how kids can learn certain skills given the proper motivation!
