✨Full circle moment! Our cadets were in for a treat today, as they were able to receive mentorship from the two older Poplos brothers. Dean is an Air Force Academy graduate who will soon pilot the C-5 Galaxy aircraft right here at Dover AFB. Nate commissioned through U.S. Army ROTC and is currently in medical school. All three of the Poplos brothers are DE-941 alum, with James graduating tomorrow. However, one Poplos alumni is missing from this photo, Michelle Poplos who served faithfully on the CR Afjrotc Boosters for over 10 years! We love visits from our alumnis and appreciate that they continue to pour into our cadets! We are CR!

We said goodbye to our senior cadets today. Our 1st and 2nd years will especially miss their Flight Commanders & Advisors. Thank-you seniors for setting up DE-941 up for future success. We are sure going to miss you…but we know you’re going on to do great things! 😭🫶

Cadets and DE-941 family members cleaned NASCAR stadiums after the All Star Races this past weekend. They covered a quarter mile stretch of stadium that reach approximately 100 feet in height. There were an estimated 60K spectators over the weekend. Our cadets formulated and executed a plan, with leaders forming tactics to ensure the most efficient and thorough approach. Job well done 👏

DE-941 RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED UNIT AWARD WITH MERIT!

Caesar Rodney High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFJROTC) has earned the Distinguished Unit Award with Merit for the 2025-2026 school year.

The Distinguished Unit Award with Merit recognizes the personal growth and accomplishments of the cadets, contributions of the instructors as mentors, and the support of the school and local community.

Additionally, Capt. (Ret) Christina Camp and MSgt (Ret) Corey Pennypacker were both recognized with the Region 4 Subregion 3 Outstanding Instructor of the Year Award.

The announcement was made by Benjamin Caro, USAF, Deputy Director, HQ AFJROTC. “Certainly, numerous AF/SF JROTC units are doing great things in their respective communities, but these units truly represent the best of our 812 AF/SF JROTC units worldwide. The cadets, instructors, and schools are to be commended for earning their award,” stated Caro in an earlier release. In regard to the Outstanding Instructor Awards, he said “they represent the highest examples of Air Force Core Values, which are crucial to the success of the AFJROTC mission.”

Cadets volunteered at Massey’s 22nd Chili Fiesta Fly-In, which featured an open hangar, Massey Air Museum, and a chili/covered dish lunch. Cadets helped set-up, serve, and clean up. Massey’s does a lot for our cadets with teaching them about aviation and even offering them flights. Also, many volunteer opportunities like this wouldn’t be possible without parent chaperones like Stephanie Fellabaum and Sandra Osborne who go above and beyond for our corps. We are truly thankful for them.

Cadets competed in their first Raiders athletics event today at Appoquinimink High School in Middletown DE. C/Lt Col Lucas long earned First Place in the Sprint-Drag-Carry, C/TSgt Chris Brown earned First Place in sit-ups, and C/SrA Levi Frappier earned Second Place in both the 1-mile run and in sit-ups! The entire team pushed themselves to the max and most importantly had a blast doing it! We are CR!

Cadets performed an unarmed and armed exhibition sequence at Rider Pride Day today. Principal Williams joined the fun in the position of honor. It’s a great day to be a Rider!
