Just a little progress update and glamor shots of the farm and some seed drops of mướp đắng/khổ qua and mướp hương (bittermelon and luffa). Our elders gifted us some seeds of a giant one from years ago and we've been selectively growing them in a mix of other seeds to build genetic diversity, to happy success 😁 excited to share these with our friends at TrueLove Seeds

We also have some very important updates coming soon about changes in the farm's horizon and look forward to sharing the news with folks. For now, please enjoy the beauty and splendor!

Plant update!

As it gets hotter, remember, some if not most of your baby plants need extra water! The sun is no joke. Here's some pictures of our plants growing and blooming! We recently just put up the trellis for our bittermelon and they are growing and latching on beautifully. Some water spinach growing, a viet household staple for hotpot, stir fries, and just simply delicious! Our Malabar spinach, kale, and cabbage have been growing splendidly... remember to harvest your league greens!

Until next time :)

A big thank you to the volunteers coming out this past Saturday! They helped us fix our compost pile and put some into our perennial beds!

As we close out spring soon, we are preparing to welcome in summer by making sure our plants have enough nutrients and water.

Stay posted for our next volunteer work days in the fall...and stay coooool.

We are wrapping up the season with full, thankful hearts 🫀🍲💌 here is a love letter from the land. We can't wait to be back out there and share with you all some exciting developments. Til then...please enjoy these photos!

Pictured are:
1) our elder cô Phượng sharing and showing off her gourd-geous chayotes and chili's (photo courtesy of . Several community members got their own seeds from her for their growing spaces next year!

2) our community hangout at TrueLove Seeds, where we got to eat delicious food, watch live seedsaving, behold beautiful heritage beans, and connect over our food stories

3) chili oil made from leftover oxhorn peppers after seed saving! This was shared at the above hangout 🌶️

4) pumpkin soup made from our Viet pumpkins, also post seed saving (we love this part of seedsaving)

5) our bushes of Yellow California chili's, graciously shared with us by Cô Phượng and her family. These chili's are beloved by Latine and Viet communities in California, and those who have migrated to the east coast still recognize them and buy many of them from our elder when she sells at the SE Asian market at

6) tinctures ready to be gifted to our grower community made with love and grown with care at the farm! You might notice that there is papaya leaf 🌿 here: you can apparently still grow papaya, a potent medicinal plant, up here in our colder zone. You just wouldn't get fruit, but they're beautiful plants! Our elder Cô Tuyết grew a stand of them on her plot this year

We also made Bittermelon, tulsi, motherwort tinctures. There is a salve blend cold steeping that we will be processing later too!!

Fall harvest still absolutely thriving 💐 some things are passing into slower production but our flowers and herbs are giving life!

1.marigolds,calendula,yarrow fronds, comfrey, sage and tulsi drying to be made into a healing salve to soothe skin inflammation and wounds. Can potentially be turned into hair care!

2. Our patch of wine cap mushrooms are popping up! They are SO ADORABLE

3. Malabar spinach climbing up Okra, setting seed

4. Clusters of a Vietnamese yellow pepper slowly ripening - they should be a dark orange when they are ready to be saved for seed! Very spicy variety, we are still trying to identify them with our elder who gave us the seeds 🥰
