The WTC Kershaw County FFA Chapter is proud to be recognized in the 2026 National Chapter Award Program by the National FFA Organization, earning the prestigious 3-Star Chapter designation!

This award recognizes outstanding FFA chapters that actively carry out the mission of the organization through programs that grow leaders, build communities, and strengthen agriculture. Chapters are evaluated on the quality of opportunities and experiences they provide for all members through their Program of Activities and the National Quality FFA Chapter Standards.

Out of more than 9,400 FFA chapters across the nation, only about 5% earned National 3-Star status this year. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our members, officers, advisors, supporters, and community partners.

Congratulations to everyone who played a role in making this national recognition possible. We are proud to represent Camden, Kershaw County, and South Carolina on the national stage!

What a week in Oklahoma!

Our FFA Horse Judging Team had the incredible opportunity to judge some of the highest-quality American Quarter Horses from around the world at the AQHYA World Show. Competing in a contest of this caliber gave our team valuable experience as we continue preparing for National FFA Convention.

Beyond the contest, we explored some of the best of the western horse industry, including the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, the Oklahoma National Stockyards, local saddleries, Re*****on Racetrack, the Arcadia Round Barn, the National Appaloosa Horse Club Headquarters, and so much more. Every stop gave our students the chance to learn, study, and experience the history and culture of the horse industry while strengthening friendships and growing together as a team.

A huge thank you to SCQHYA for your support and for helping make this opportunity possible.

Best of luck to all of the other South Carolina exhibitors and competitors representing our state at the AQHYA World Show! We’re still cheering you on as we head back home!

What a week at the South Carolina FFA State Convention!

This convention was especially meaningful as WTC Kershaw alumna Kylie Tucker concluded her year of service as a South Carolina FFA State Officer. We are grateful for the leadership, dedication, and positive impact she made on FFA members across the state.

We were proud to celebrate 8 members who received their State FFA Degrees and 5 members who were recognized as candidates for earning the American FFA Degree.

We were also excited to see Madeline Foret and Jalynn Golson recognized as part of the "Tagged to Teach Ag" program. Both students have expressed an interest in pursuing careers as agriculture educators!

We were honored to be recognized as a Gold Emblem Chapter, a testament to the hard work and commitment of our members throughout the year.

We were also proud to see our Horse Evaluation Team recognized for their state championship earned earlier this year. Extended congratulations to Tallon Hunt for earning the title of Upper Creed Speaking State Champion!

Congratulations again to Madeline Foret for winning her division of the State Agriscience Fair with her research project investigating the use of sericea lespedeza pellets as a natural deworming tool to help reduce barber pole worm parasites in sheep.

It was also great to see several chapter alumni working behind the scenes to make convention successful. Allyson Mehm represented Agriculture Future of America as an ambassador, while Laiken Tidwell and Presley Millett worked tirelessly backstage throughout the week.

Our Parliamentary Procedure team also represented our chapter well. This was the first FFA competition for many of these team members!

It was a big and busy week for our members, but one filled with accomplishments, service, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Our students worked hard at the SC FFA Days of Service project where they created handmade dog leashes. These were packed into donation boxes that we will bring home to one of our local animal shelters. We are proud of our students for donating their time and talent to make this project a success.
