In commitment to our inclusive values, CES invited Story Starters to join us for two family education events. First, they guided parents in thinking about how to talk to young children about current events. Then, they joined us on the playground for an interactive storytime focused on immigration. In our classrooms, we extended this learning by making signs to hang at school so our immigrant neighbors, friends, schoolmates, and community members know they are all welcome at CES!

We have chicks!! 🐣🐥 For the past 21 days, children in the Red and Blue Rooms have been waiting patiently for their chicken eggs to hatch. When the children arrived Monday morning, they were excited to see a few eggs had cracks in them with tiny beaks popping in and out. The chicks then slowly zippered their way around the egg using their beaks, and on Tuesday morning we were finally able to meet our little bitty pretty ones! Our new friends will spend the next couple of weeks here at CES before heading to their forever home on a family farm.

Our school was filled with joy, love, and exploration last Friday for Special Friends Day. Grandparents, neighbors, aunts and uncles, parents, and even siblings spent the morning with us at CES! As Bekah remarked at our Special Friends assembly, it truly is one of our favorite days of the year!

What a joy it was to welcome our newly enrolled families to Visiting Day! Seeing children explore their future classrooms, meet our teachers, and begin forming friendships made the day so special. We’ll feel so lucky you chose to join our school community! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

CES teachers Qiaoling and An presented at the Boston University Curiosity & Learning Conference over our April break! Silkworms might not be a common classroom pet, but they have become a beloved part of the Mandarin curriculum for many years now! 🐛 As the children experience and observe the silkworm’s life cycle, they learn to identify mulberry leaves 🍃(and taste mulberry leaf tea ☕️) , discover the history of how humans began to create silk over 4000 years ago, and engage in sensory exploration as they interact with the silkworms & their cocoons. 📚

Remember the Spanish Blue Room bake sale last month? Great news! This past week, Jeanette delivered the proceeds to our partner community in Lima, Peru. School supplies, foodstuffs, and other home supplies found their way to where they were needed. And the handmade bracelets from our Artisan theme added a little sparkle to the event ✨📿Thanks for being change makers Spanish Blue!

And that’s a wrap for the CES final auction! It was such a successful night filled with tasty food & cocktails, unique live & silent auction offerings, and fantastic company! Though this may be our last auction, the party is certainly not over...

We would like to formally announce that Cambridge-Ellis will be hosting our first ever BLOCK PARTY, coming spring of 2027! We can’t wait to share more about this exciting family event in the coming months, so stay tuned!
