*Vaccination Volunteer opportunity!!*

Boston-based GOTVax organization is working to schedule appointments and distribute COVID vaccines to low-income communities in MA. They offer weekly clinics within communities (typically during the weekends) and for every 2hr shift, assign volunteers a list of phone numbers of folks in the community to reach out to see if they've been vaccinated, and if not, work to schedule an appointment during the clinic days for them. They’ve usually assigned me all Spanish-speakers because there are so few volunteers who can speak Spanish; as they are very much in need of volunteers who are able to reach the Spanish-speaking community, I just wanted to share this opportunity! It’s been amazing volunteering for them- they do really crucial work - and I would very much recommend it. Here’s a link to their website, where you can find the initial sign-up form. Dados los pasados casos de violencia de género en contra de Andrea Cristina Ruíz Costas, Keishla Rodríguez Ortiz, Arellys Mercado (lea abajo) y de muchas mujeres que sufren, nos unimos al grito puertorriqueño por aquellas que ya no están. Las escuchamos, las nombramos, las recordamos y luchamos por ellas. Es nuestro deseo que estas pérdidas nos motiven a reflexionar como sociedad y a implementar cambios que eviten que casos como éstos continúen ocurriendo. A pesar de que el gobierno es responsable del bienestar de los ciudadanos a quienes sirve, es responsabilidad de cada uno de nosotros contribuir nuestro granito de arena. Acciones que pueden hacer la diferencia incluyen educar a quienes nos rodean, desde pequeños hasta adultos, sobre la importancia del consentimiento y el respeto, promover la implementación de educación con perspectiva de género en las escuelas de Puerto Rico y hacer todo lo posible porque las féminas que conocemos estén seguras. A pesar de que el cambio que queremos tomará tiempo, tenemos la esperanza de que veremos un cambio positivo a medida que cada uno hagamos nuestra parte.

El estado de emergencia incluye violencia en contra de la comunidad LGBTQ.
