Come hang out with us on August 20 from 12:00 PM–2:00 PM for a FREE Community Cookout hosted by the Guernsey County CDC and MOVE Staffing. Located in the MOVE parking lot 914 Wheeling Ave!

We’ll have hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and lemonade, and most importantly, a chance to connect with people and resources right here in our community.

Community agencies joining us include Allwell, Bridges to Wellness, Lue Haven, Behavioral Health Choices, MOVE Staffing, and more.

If your agency or organization would like to set up an information table, pass out resources, or donate a sweet treat please contact Kyra or Lexi.

Yesterday we completed another ramp for an area resident. By providing these ramps, we ensure individuals can safely navigate to and from their home, which enables them to stay mobile and active in our community.

Funding for our this program has been provided by the John W. and Edna McManus Shepard Fund, Peoples Bank, and private donations.

We are extremely fortunate to have been awarded funds from the John W. and Edna McManus Shepard Fund. These funds will be used to purchase and install two new interpretive signs along The Great Guernsey Trail.

The new signs are part of our long-term goal of improving and adding to our beautiful trail. Each new addition is meant to provide education, increase visitation and add to the miles of trails we have developed over the past several years.

As part of our ongoing effort to provide safe and reliable transportation for second shift workers, our organization has been awarded a grant from the United Way of Guernsey, Monroe & Noble Counties for $8,900 with the express purpose of funding our Connects Work Mobility.

Thanks to these grant dollars and a very generous donation of $20,000 from the CIC, we have been able to raise a total of $28,900.00 to help fund our Connects Work Mobility.

These funds show the belief in the importance of our program and the desire of local agencies to support our area residents. We will continue to work to raise funds to ensure this program can sustain itself for the foreseeable future.

Please take a moment to thank the United Way for being a continued supporter of the CDC and those that call Guernsey County Home.

We couldn't do what we do, without agencies like the United Way.
