This week we had the honor of hosting a conversation and dinner with el defensor del Pueblo, the public advocate, to discuss his role and contemporary issues in the Dominican Republic. Thank you to everyone for coming, Mr. Ulloa for spending time with us, and everyone who helped set this up!

Hola familia! DSA is super excited to announce that we will be hosting a fireside chat with Pablo Ulloa, who is the elected Public Advocate/Ombudsman of the Dominican Republic who will be visiting Boston this week. This'll be taking place Friday at 7pm in the Adams Upper Common Room! His work focuses on investigating maladministration in the country and find resolution to complaints presented by Dominicans on the island. We'll be having him speak about his work followed by a Q&A, and time to socialize towards the end. We'll be offering catered dinner from Merengue restaurant! Hope to see y'all there!

What is your favorite memory with DSA?
My favorite memory thus far was the DSA brunch. It was so nice to meet and connect with fellow Dominican students while enjoying mangú con los tres golpes!
Any possible DSA events that you're excited to make happen?
I am excited to plan events that will allow us to engage with the local Dominican communities in the wider Cambridge and Boston areas.
What is your favorite part of being Dominican?
There are so many things that I love about being Dominican, but my favorites would have to be our food and our music. They not only characterize the vibrancy of our culture, but they also serve such a valuable role in bringing Dominicans together no matter the occasion.
