When I was admitted to MIT, my father said it was a prayer answered. He passed away during my sophomore year, but not before telling me his dream was for me to have the brass rat he never could.

Today, I run my own nonprofit, Mbadika, which supports youth innovation and entrepreneurship across communities worldwide. Our programs have reached students in 11 countries. And now I’m back in Cambridge, just down the street from where my life changed.

My bright future started because someone donated to MITES. Someone believed a girl like me deserved the chance to discover she belonged.

Now I’m asking you to be that person for the next student who’s been told they’re not enough.

Let’s finish strong together,

Netia McCray ’12, MITES ‘07
Founder, Mbadika

People often ask what keeps me coming back year after year. It’s the sparkle in their eyes. The collective energy of talented students discovering what they’re capable of.” – Dr. Wesley Harris

This is the legacy we’re building together. This is why your gift today matters.

An anonymous MITES alum has pledged $20,000 when we reach 250 donors.

We are already at 90 donors.

That means only 160 more supporters are needed to unlock the gift
