The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, the Cambridge Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the individual who attempted to rob the Bank of America, located at 772 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, Massachusetts earlier this morning.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'10", with a mustache. He was wearing a black jacket with a grey sweatshirt, black knit cap, a scarf, and black sneakers.

The suspect resembles recently escaped federal prisoner James Walter Morales, who fled the Wyatt Detention Center last weekend. Morales is currently being sought by the U.S. Marshal Service. Surveillance photos of the bank robbery suspect are listed below. A wanted photo of James Morales is also listed.

We encourage members of the community to be vigilant and anyone with information about the identity of this individual should call 1-800-KAPTURE (1-800-527-8873) or call 911.

Good Morning LU!

Today Cambridge Fire Department will be conducting exercises with simulated smoke at One Kendall Square. This exercise is scheduled to take place between the hours of 9am-5pm. The exercise will include multiple fire trucks staging in the loading dock areas. This simulated smoke will likely be seen by people in the vicinity but will not be a hindrance to the public or traffic.

According to local weather advisements, an extreme cold front is set to sweep through the area on Today and tomorrow, which will bring dangerous, below-zero wind-chills. If you must go outside, Public Safety encourages you to dress for the conditions by covering up as much as possible and wearing warm layers. We also encourage you to check on your family, friends, or neighbors to make sure they are safe during the extreme cold.
If you come across anyone who are in need of support, please call us at 617-349-8888.
