The MIT Science Bowl 2025 High School Invitational took place two weeks ago on November 15, 2025, which saw 48 teams from a record 20 states participate in one of the most competitive Science Bowl events of the year.

The morning featured a Round Robin stage of eight divisions, where six teams played against each other in a single round robin in each division. The top four teams from each division advanced to the 32-team Double Elimination bracket in the afternoon, featuring hundreds of questions written by our 29 volunteer writers. The Double Elimination bracket saw intense matches that culminated in a two-game final and an incredible last toss-up question to decide the winner.

Teams who did not advance to the afternoon Elimination rounds didn't miss the action! They played in a four-team, three-group wildcard bracket against each other, with lower stakes and on-level competition, making the most out of their trip to MIT. Many eliminated teams throughout the day stayed until the final match, played in 10-250 and streamed online, where two west coast teams rematch in a nail-biting grand final to compete for the MIT Science Bowl 2025 High School Invitational championship.

And our winner is...

Seattle Schrödinger Squad!

Thank you to every competitor, volunteer, question writer, and our sponsors, MIT School of Science and Jane Street, for making this tournament possible every year! A special shout-out to MIT Video Productions for making a high-quality MIT Science Bowl livestream a reality. We hope teams look forward to competing next year!
