Do you know about Umuganda?

Umuganda is a monthly national day of community service in Rwanda, held on the last Saturday morning of every month.

Across the country, people pause their usual activities as businesses close and transport slows down, coming together to clean public spaces, repair infrastructure, plant trees, and support local projects.

More than just work, Umuganda is also a time for community dialogue—strengthening unity, shared responsibility, and collective progress.
