On August 7, 2025, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights recognized the “right to care” as a standalone human right, marking a bold shift in how states must support access to care, especially for persons with disabilities and marginalized communities.

What does this mean in practice? How might it shape laws and advocacy across the Americas, from community-built care models in Colombia to the challenges posed by austerity in Argentina and service cuts in the U.S.?

Join us on February 10 for a webinar hosted by HPOD, Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics, and David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard. Panelists will explore how this decision could reshape care systems and legal strategies in deeply different national contexts.
