805 Industry Day at Oxnard College was a success! It was wonderful having the county’s counselors and administrators on-site to explore the industry aligned options available to their students. Some of the programs we explored on Friday were the Fire Academy, Automotive, Culinary Arts, and more!

Data Science is an emerging field. Data Science, with its many applications, is a field of study that draws heavily from the foundational concepts in statistics and machine learning and uses programming to explain or predict outcomes from data. Moorpark College offers a Certificate of Achievement in Data Science and students must complete between 15 - 16 specified units. Moorpark Unified School District is working on adding Data Science to Moorpark High School in the Fall of 2022. Simi Valley Unified School District currently offers Data Science and Conejo Valley Unified will soon follow.
STEAM Day is back at Oxnard Union High School District! STEAM Day event will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 8am-1:00pm (workshops from 9am-12:20pm) at Oxnard High School, 3400 W. Gonzales Rd. Oxnard. As the U.S. economy recovers from the impact of COVID-19, upskilling programs — defined as training or education that teaches new skills or advances or upgrades existing skills — present a compelling opportunity for workers and businesses.
