Hello CBHS Friends & Fiends—
In light of my woeful internet skills, I have NOT been able to update much content for this page in awhile. However, it is nice to know a few of you pop by here occasionally – you're really too kind. Though rarely these days, I still see or talk with Alumni which is awesome.

(Mr. Samano) We'd be so happy to hear from more past students and family. Some previous Illinois Alumni have bumped into us, or contacted by phone, internet, and even postcards. We've also had grads from as far away as Florida and California reach out – it's ALL been AMAZING!

I'm still writing a couple more shorts and now working with a great Hollywood screenwriter – 50 year long friendship. I am with my mate, Irene.
MIKE SALINAS has just attained his Principal Liscense, Passed to Advance EDUCATION, is Married to a very pretty & kind wife and is enjoying being a teacher and Administrator down South. We realized and some of you are now OLDER than when Mike & I worked together with you at CBS or CBHS!
We'll always be very proud of our small program and the teaching friendships we shared in it.

Happy 2023 to all the Grads, Parents, Students, and friends of CBHS.🏆 MIKE & I were in touch over Holidays and we dearly wish all of you a Healthy & Happy year. And NEVER FORGET: WE ALL (you & us) were the eternal Underrated and Underappreciated Underdogs ‐ but against others' Prejudices, WE SUCCEEDED. The Haters can't stand that. So screw 'em!

Students and faculty,
This page was set up as a place for past students, staff and genuine friends from our Community-Based High School (CBHS) and from the even older Community-Based School. (CBS). My name is Kurt and my companion's name is Mike. We constructed and taught at the programs from 1998 until 2009. We graduated dozens of students and helped many young men and women get back on their feet for a new start in life.
