I tried on the highest ranked riding jeans at Cavender’s so you don’t have to.
Quick note before we start: I’m very long torsoed, so “sits low in the front” comes up a lot. If that’s not your body, it probably won’t bother you. Pros and cons on every pair 👇
1) WRANGLER RETRO MAE
✅ Flattering, very comfortable
❌ Not a lot of structure, sits a little low in front.
2) WRANGLER WILLOW ⭐ my favorite
✅ Back rises higher than the front, love the wash, flattering pockets, honestly everything
❌ Still dips a little low in the front on me
3) WRANGLER BESPOKE HIGH RISE BOOTCUT
✅ Color + wash are excellent
+ Love the high rise
+ Honestly liked everything
– Cut for a slightly curvier build, so the pockets and the tag sit differently. If you don’t like how these pockets look on me, skip the whole Bespoke line. If you do, you’ll like all of them.
4) ARIAT MID RISE STRAIGHT LEG
✅ Perfect for tucking into tall top boots, great color, super comfortable, and Ariat holds your b***y.
❌ A little low in front (long torso thing), bold white pocket stitching if you like a plain pocket
5) ARIAT PERFECT RISE KAHLANI TROUSER (Berryessa wash)
✅ Really liked the pockets, trouser leg without going full wide leg, flattering fit and wash
❌ Waistband is rigid and it’s narrow through the hips, better suited for a less curvy build.
6) ARIAT PERFECT RISE AISHA TROUSER (Missouri wash)
✅ Way more comfortable than the Kahlani, more stretch, great wash and waistline, makes the b***y pop, works for riding AND as a nice pair of jeans
❌ Bold white stitching on pockets if that bothers you
7) WRANGLER RETRO BAILEY COWBOY CUT
✅ Very high waisted (yes for us long torso girls), classic look, more structure and hold, traditional W pockets a lot of people find flattering
❌ Not as comfortable, the extreme light wash is not the most slimming. Curious how it looks in a darker wash.
