Byers School District 32J We appreciate your visit to our site. Our public school is a small, rural system which is located approximately 50 miles east of Denver along the I-70 Corridor.

Our primary economic source of income is agriculture, although many of our residents commute to the Denver area for employment. Our district is comprised of one elementary school, a junior high school, and a high school - all of which are located on one campus. We have a total staff of 72 employees which includes 37 regular classroom teachers, two principals, one guidance counselor, one financial

Jonathan Haidt's The Anxious Generation describes a major change in childhood: the shift from a play-based childhood to a phone-based childhood.
Children today have access to entertainment, social interaction, information, games, and communication 24/7.
Technology isn't the enemy. But we have to ask:
What is technology replacing?
Outdoor play
Face-to-face friendships
Sleep
Family conversations
Boredom and creativity
Real-world experiences
Our goal isn't to eliminate technology.
Our goal is to make sure technology doesn't replace childhood.
