On behalf of the FAA’s Flight Procedures Team, this message is to inform you that the following flight procedures at airports within the State of Missouri have been targeted for cancellation. Please see the following email for additional instructions about providing feedback.

For MoDOT, please coordinate with the affected airports under the State Block Grant Program to ensure that they are aware and have an opportunity to respond.

Wow! A microburst hit the Butler Memorial Airport -KBUM today and destroyed Hangar A1/2! I was in Sedalia, on my way back from the Missouri SEMA Conference. It always seems to happen when I'm out of town! And 5 aircraft on the ramp - no apparent damage!

After roughly a year of working with MoDot, the FAA, the City of Butler (multiple departments), several lawyers, the Butler Memorial Airport Commission is proud to announce we have a new tenant at the airport! Burns Custom Spraying is building a new facility on the south west side of the airport, just north of the Osage Valley ballfields. We know there have been a lot of questions and rumors going around lately, so here are some answers. They are constructing a large hangar to house their spray plane, a ramp where they can load product, two connectors to the taxiway, an access road to Business 49, and a retention pond (DNR requirements). Additionally, the ramp will have built in spill prevention/mitigation so no hazardous chemicals can leak downstream. Hopefully, everything will be in place by next spring!

The airport will be closed this week for maintenance. We are having cracks in the pavement on the runway and ramp patched, and then a sealcoat over everything, then temporary runway markings added till the sealcoat cures. We should be back open by Saturday, June18th, Check NOTAMS for additional info!
