| We are proud to announce the following ABSS Teacher Scholars that received the prestigious North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship. The scholarship pays up to $10,000 per year of college. All of these students have committed to returning home to teach in ABSS after college! 🤩

🎉 Katelyn Hamilton from Southern Alamance High will be attending UNCC majoring in Elementary Education.

🎉 Shawn Means from ABSS Early College at ACC will be attending UNCC majoring in Middle Grades Math.

🎉 Linda Mostafa from Southeast Alamance High will be attending Elon University through our Alamance Scholars Partnership and majoring in Middle Grades Education.

🎉 Brooklyn Newman from ABSS Early College at ACC will be attending UNC and majoring in Elementary Education.

🎉 Samantha Norwood from Southeast Alamance High will be attending App State and majoring in Elementary Education.

🎉 Gwen Stadnicar from Southeast Alamance will be attending UNCC and majoring in Elementary Education.

During Teacher Appreciation Week we asked the teachers of CTEC what they wanted help doing in their classrooms! For just a moment, we wanted to make their lives a bit easier!

We have been cleaning, preparing students for a test, making posters and creating bulletin boards for a few weeks!

The ABSS Teacher Cadets II Honors class recently completed a unit on School Governance and hosted a School Board Discussion Panel in the CTEC auditorium. Mrs. Ellington-Graves, Mr. Rogers, and Ms. Harvey attended and discussed what it's like to be a member of the Board of the Education. All the students in this class are aspiring educators!

This evening our Teacher Scholars were presented with their honor cords by a teacher who has influenced their decision to become an educator! The Burlington Carousel was the perfect setting to honor these seniors and to hear the stories of how they have been impacted! After hearing words like SUPPORTIVE, ENCOURAGING, CARING, and TOUGH BUT FAIR, there is no doubt their education journeys will come full circle one day when they pay it forward with their own students!

Honor cords were presented for academic excellence (yellow), volunteer hours (double yellow), completing Teacher Cadet 1 Honors (lt blue), and Teacher Cadet 2 Honors (lt blue/red).

state conference saved the best for last! We were so thrilled to hear one of our very own, Ms. Chanel Jones, Piedmont Triad Teacher of the Year, during the closing keynote! She is a perfect example of growing our own - ABSS student to ABSS teacher🙌🙌

✔️Roll call and state officer keynotes
✔️Goosechase missions to meet new friends
✔️Dr. Tevis Harris, our inspiring dinner keynote, who shared seven points where we can all plant our boots!
✔️karaoke and UNO
✔️Room checks and blue tape (IYKYK)

Can’t wait for the breakout sessions tomorrow!!
