Anxious humans…
Do you feel…
Burnt out
Stressed out
Worried, fearful or uncertain
Completely overwhelmed
Exhausted, but unable to rest
Like you can’t shut your mind off
That you give so much to others that there is nothing left for you?
If so, you are not alone. You don’t need to be diagnosed with anxiety to feel the effects of our modern life, pandemic life, parenthood, or daily demands to feel the impact it has on your well being.
So many of you have reached out regarding anxiety that I was inspired to create a course to get us through the end of this wild year with a sense of calm and connection.
Yoga for anxiety is a 6 week course.
We'll meet virtually on Wednesdays starting October 27th at 5:45pm for an hour. A short commitment, yet effective!
Each class will include yoga and breathing practices to help you relax, and you’ll learn how each practice is designed to impact your mood and stress levels.
You'll receive journal prompts inspired by yogic philosophy that can help you transform anxious thoughts.
You'll have time to connect with others who are feeling the same way.
Plus, honestly, it's a great opportunity to really carve out time for yourself once a week for six weeks to practice yoga in a way that will help you feel better in the moment, but also teach you tools to bring more calm, ease, and balance into the rest of your life. These tools only gets better and better with time.

Have some questions before you commit? Send me a message! I truly believe these tools can change your life and I can't wait to share them with you if you're new, or help deepen your understanding if you've been practicing yoga for a while. All levels of experience are welcome.

Sitting in the car thinking about the to-do list (including cleaning that awesome chocolate stain in the back seat!) feeling totally overwhelmed by daily life, deadlines etc.. and cursing to myself because how the F are we all expected to do it all!?
Then I took a breath. I gave myself a moment of grace and reminded myself it's truly one step at a time. Chances are things aren't as urgent as they seem (including that chocolate stain in the backseat!)
Everything changed. My mood lightened, energy restored, crisis averted.
That's just part of the magic of our breath and this practice.--pause and perspective.
I wanted to pop on and remind you that you're doing great. Chances are it's all not as urgent as it seems. One step at a time. Breathe. You got this.

Anxiety.
It has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember
When I was young I had no idea what it was.
It wasn’t until much later in life that I had language to describe what I was experiencing and even longer after that until I had the actual word to name it. ANXIETY
Naming it was huge.
But what was even bigger for me was learning some skills to manage it. (You knew this was a yoga post)
I started practicing yoga as a gym requirement in college
I stayed because I found the regulatory skills I so desperately needed
I stick with it to this day because it still helps me manage my anxiety, but it also has transformed who I am as a person.
🌍It’s given me the ability to see the both/and. We can hold contradictory beliefs and feelings AT THE SAME TIME. (Earth shattering)
🌩️It’s gives me some solace in the storms
🤸♀️It makes me a much better parent
✨It connects me to something bigger than myself
🙏It has centered the ideas of service and gratitude in my life
🤯It’s literally the thing holding me together during the s**t storm that is our collective current state of affairs.
Diving deeper into my yoga practice, learning the connection between what I was experiencing in class, reading in books, and then actually IMPLEMENTING those lessons and ideas into my daily life was life changing. It’s why I teach yoga. I do actually believe it can change the world (however, I do not believe it’s a panacea *both/and)
I moved from using yoga as an exercise, then as a regulatory tool, to a life altering practice that keeps me accountable.
Would you be interested in learning more about living your yoga?
How it can support your life?
I’m putting together a workshop to start having these conversations and I’d love your help!

Wednesday
5:30pm
Core flow and tea time
(tea time is an optional gratitude share at the end of class)
While I can't wait to be teaching in person again, I've gotten to really love teaching virtually.
In my classes for Story Yoga I sit at the screen and watch you practice. I offer cues and suggestions based on what I see. You can leave yourself unmuted and we talk to each other like we're actually together. It's been great.
One amazing perk of the virtual format is I've had someone regularly tuning in from across the country. Last week their mother tuned in to take class with us from Italy! International yoga!
I'd love to see you.

What are you doing today (Sunday) at 4pm?
Come hang out with me via zoom for a 45 minute yoga nidra to end your weekend feeling refreshed.
All you need is a blanket and something to lie down on (I prefer my bed). Once you're comfy you just listen to my voice and try not to fall asleep (although totally ok if you do!)
