International conflicts, climate change, and a polarized US election cycle means that teaching and learning is happening at an unpredictable and tense time. 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Today’s podcast will be “Unraveling Faculty Burnout” an episode of Teaching in Higher Education that will focus on tackling the stigma surrounding burnout and how to show yourself compassion during difficult times.
Join us in Howe Library 303 on Monday, October 14th from 12pm-1pm. We’ll have a jigsaw puzzle and coloring pages out, and you’re welcome to bring your own handcrafts if you like. Or just come and quietly listen! Informal conversation for those who’d like it will follow each episode.

The Center for Teaching and Learning is hosting a Fall workshop series on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). Are you are interested in how to research your own classroom teaching practices and student learning experiences? Start by joining our series to learn how to craft your own research questions, collect data from your students on their experiences in your course and share your research in SoTL publications and at the UVM SoTL symposium in May of 2025.
