Kerr Middle School Cheer

Day 2 was… A DAY. 😅 There may have been literal blood (everyone is okay!), sweat, and tears, but this team never quit. And WOW did they show up.

The progress these girls have made in just two days has been incredible! 💙

✨ Several All-American nominees
❤️💙 Earned BOTH a Red and Blue Evaluation Ribbon for our band chant and situational cheer
🏆 Technical Excellence Award for their focus, effort, and proper technique
🏆 Herkie Team Award (my personal favorite!) for exemplifying the leadership, values, teamwork, and sportsmanship that NCA was founded on.
…AND they brought home ANOTHER SPIRIT STICK on Day 2!! 🙌

I couldn’t be more proud of this group. They are coachable, resilient, and tough. They keep showing up, pushing through, and proving they can do hard things.

This team is building something special, and I truly believe they’re one to watch this season. 👀

Now it’s time to lock in for Day 3. Let’s finish strong! 💪🏼🐾💙

☀️ Good morning from NCA Summer Cheer Camp at the Ga***rd! Since we’re already rolling into Day 2, here’s a little Day 1 recap… 👏

Y’all… what a way to kick off camp! 😮‍💨

The pace was FAST, but these girls never backed down. We already had multiple athletes nominated for All-American, learned a band chant, picked up new stunts and skills, and most importantly… they executed them! 💪🔥

Now, confession time… the day was moving so fast that I completely forgot to take pictures. 😂 But I did remember to snap a picture of the one thing that absolutely deserved it…

🏆 WE WON A SPIRIT STICK ON DAY ONE! 🏆

If you’ve ever been to NCA camp, you know that’s no easy feat - especially on Day 1. These girls brought the energy, the effort, and the attitude from the minute they stepped on the mat.

One more fun thing… we were SO excited to find out we ended up at the same camp as our favorite NCA staff buddy from Tarleton last year… and they assigned him to work with us again without even realizing we’d already been together before! 🤯💙

And as if that wasn’t enough, one of our head instructors is the same head instructor from my very first camp as a coach. Some connections just feel meant to happen. I’ll call those little God winks, and we’re feeling incredibly thankful for them this week. 💙

Now we’re heading into Day 2, and if Day 1 was any indication of what’s ahead… y’all better stay tuned.

These girls have that fire running through them, and I’m here for every second of it. 🔥💙

Congratulations to Grace on being named Student of the Month at STEAM! We are so proud of you and all the hard work you put in both in the classroom and on the cheer mat. Your dedication, leadership, and positive attitude make you such a great example for our team.

✨ Light Up the Night = success! ✨

Our girls had the best time volunteering tonight! We painted faces, played games, covered the sidewalks in chalk… and then the rain came and washed half of it away 🌧️😂 so of course the girls just jumped right back in and painted and chalked it all again!

Between the inflatable games, the Burleson Public Library Reading Rover, and supporting some awesome local vendors (mostly the sweet treats 🍪🍭😜), it was a night full of fun for everyone.

To top it all off, the girls were surprised with t-shirts from Magnolia Love Printing at the end of the night. That was such a special and generous surprise, and we are so incredibly thankful! It made a great night even more memorable.

Huge thank you to Center for ASD for letting us be part of such an incredible event. We loved serving our community and can’t wait to do it again! 💙✨

This event benefits the Center for ASD, an incredible organization that supports individuals with autism and special needs, and we’re so happy to be part of such a meaningful event in our community. 💛

Cheer is about so much more than sidelines, competition, and routines - it’s about teamwork, leadership, and giving back - and there’s no better way to start our season than serving together! ✨

This year’s tryouts were packed full of talent, and I’m so excited to get to work with this amazing team! As a coach, I couldn’t be more excited about the group we have this year - and how blessed am I to get to say that every year!? We’ve truly got some amazing students here at Kerr, and I’m beyond excited to be able to serve another year with this program.

Practices have already started, uniform fittings have happened, fundraisers are kicking off, and our girls are already jumping into volunteer opportunities to serve our community!
