Feeling down? Sometimes finding the light is a literal thing.

Sunshine helps our bodies produce vitamin D, a nutrient that plays an important role in mood, brain function, and overall well-being. While it isn’t a cure for depression, science suggests that low vitamin D levels can contribute to feeling down, so I'm taking my medicine

But this post isn’t really about vitamin D.

It’s about remembering that all of us, at one time or another, need help finding the light. Some days that help comes from a friend. Some days from a therapist. Some days from family, faith, purpose, or simply the courage to keep going.

And some days, it starts with sitting quietly in the sunshine, letting the warmth remind us that brighter moments still exist.

If you’re struggling, keep looking toward the light. And if someone you love is struggling, be a little light for them until they can find their own.

No one is born knowing how to respond when a loved one repeats the same question 20 times, no one knows what to do when food gets thrown across the room or how to navigate the health care system.

These are skills that can be learned through training, education, and experience.

That’s where we come in through educational presentations, a supportive community, and Caregiver Academy!
