We had such a great time today! Thank you Steven and Isaiah for spending the day with us at Dr. Lydia T. Wright!
NFL players, Buffalo Public Schools alumni Isaiah McDuffie, Steven Means give life lessons to students NFL players Isaiah McDuffie and Steven Means visited the Dr. Lydia T. Wright School 89 to bestow life lessons upon the students in the audience, as part of the Buffalo Public Schools’ “Achieve Your Dreams” initiative.

Spring is Here! Join us this Saturday from 10AM-1PM for some spring time favorite activities!
Cooking, fitness, STEM and self-care, PLUS a Girl Scout cookie booth hosted by our after school Girl Scout troupe!
We also invite all parents to join us for a workshop with Erie County Restorative Justice Coalition to discuss Effective Language and Communication 🗣
Saturday Academy is free and open to the entire community. We hope to see you there!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT! On Saturday, we hosted our first Saturday Academy Spelling Bee!
13 of our 3rd - 6th grade students competed. 3rd grader Wahwahshee Htoo won the 3rd/4th grade competition and 5th grader Christina Gurung won the 5th/6th grade competition!
The winners were awarded with $25 Gift Cards, and the runners up will receive bikes from East Side Bike Club! ALL participants were awarded with a token for our schools book vending machine.

Happy Read Across America Day! National Honor Society students from Health Sciences Charter School visited our pre-K classes for some Dr. Seuss story and activity time!
This Saturday we will be having our own Read Across America Saturday Academy as well as our first Spring spelling bee!
Our food pantry provides food for many of our students! We are thankful for all those that contribute!
