Calling all city youth ages 14–21!

The Mayor Sean M. Ryan's Summer Youth Internship Program and Employment Program is now accepting applications.

This is your chance to:
✔ Earn money
✔ Gain meaningful work experience
✔ Connect with working professionals in a positive and safe environment
✔ Build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in today’s workforce

Northland Workforce Training Center is excited to announce our partnership with AAA Western and Central New York for the launch of our Driver's Education Program! 🚗

Last week, participants successfully completed their five-hour pre-licensing course. We’re thrilled to expand opportunities that help our students gain essential life skills and greater independence.

To help celebrate The Buffalo History Museum will be holding two programs in the coming days:

• Wednesday, February 18, 6 PM: The Colored Musicians Club: The Evolution of Jazz

• Saturday, February 21, 11:30 AM: Voices for Freedom: African American History in Buffalo Tour

Our friends at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York are sponsoring a week of free and discounted activities for February Break!

Make this break, your most fun yet!

Due to inclement weather, Buffalo Public Schools will have a remote day of learning Friday, January 30, 2026. All students and staff should stay home. All afterschool activities, athletic practices and contest are canceled on Friday.

All students will connect remotely for a day of learning using their school-issued or personal devices through such platforms as Schoology, Clever, and Teams or use the instructional materials previously sent home with students by their individual schools. Alternative instruction will also take place remotely on Friday at the regularly scheduled time.

On Saturday, January 31, all athletic contests will take place. However, the Saturday Academies scheduled for Saturday at Frank A. Sedita Academy PS 30, Dr. Charles R. Drew Science PS 59, Southside Elementary PS 93, and Riverside Academy PS 208 are canceled.

The adult education welding class scheduled on Saturday, January 31, at Burgard High School PS 301 will take place.

📣 Join Us at the DOL Job Fair!

Workforce Buffalo will be at the DOL Job Fair this Friday, January 30th, 2026! Come meet our team from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Downtown Central Library, Main Floor (1 Lafayette Square).

We’ll be sharing information about our career pathway programs, training opportunities, and a wide range of workforce assistance services designed to support job seekers at every stage.

Check out the flyer for details on other participating employers and training organizations. We’re excited to connect with you and help you take the next step in your career.
