I never know what the final result will be, but I know that there’s always an entry point…I only need to find it, begin, then follow where it leads me💚

2021 was the first year I started doing my daily visual journaling on a desktop calendar.

When you view the full year together you may notice that a section is in black and white… that’s because when October rolled around I decided to participate in Inktober.

So I switched from my usual paintgazing to scribble art. I started the month following the prompts- and quickly ended up just doing my own thing 😊

Since then, you’ll see me switch back and forth between drawing and painting every so often. I love them both🎨✍️💕

❓Can you guess what it’ll be before I start? I don’t usually know myself 😄🎨

This one was a few years ago- I’m currently in the process of rearranging my studio (well, my life tbh), so not making new calendars yet. A few more days I hope 🤞
Meanwhile, you can view a full year of finished calendars or have something custom made for you… I’d say where to do that, but then you might not be able to see this reel😄 I trust you’ll figure it out- or just ask🩷

Typically I’m a painter. For a long time I used to say “I can’t draw”. Like, for yeeeears- even after winning awards for painting, I still thought ..ok I’m good at that, but suck at drawing.

I said it out loud too many times.

I remember thinking i was afraid people would think I thought I was good and wanted to be sure they knew I knew i wasn’t 🤣

Then one day someone pointed out that I pretty much am “drawing” with a paintbrush. 😳🤔 and for some reason that was enough to allow me to reconsider my self criticism.

The funny thing is- I “should” know better. I’ve taught and encouraged others for many years. But that’s the thing- Its not always logical or objectively true, but some of that early programming, especially around our creativity, can stick in our head for a long time.

That’s why it’s so important to be kind and encouraging to one another whenever we can.

It is possible to overwrite that BS.

I’ve been so lucky to connect with such a wonderful community- for all of you, I’m very grateful!!💓

All of your kind and encouraging comments drown out the critics.. even the ones in my head😁 Thank you!🥰
