People should know that they are capable of much more than they think they are capable of doing in their lives. This is especially true for children. We must always remember who we really are. Dr. Montessori taught that in early childhood the 'spiritual embryo' has 'vast potentials'. This is also what is meant by the phrase authentic self. For parents and teachers the goal is to make a better tomorrow for the children in their care. So, what they need to know is that KIDS CAN DO MORE THAN WE THINK. Our job as caregivers is to 'follow the child' in a carefully 'prepared environment'. On the home front it is also possible to have such care for the child's physical, emotional, mental and spiritual environment. There were many aspects to the phenomenal change resulting from an adoption of Montessori pedagogy. This change was not limited to the new children or even their families. The influence of this decision spread positively to the community at large. As in the case of Maria Montessori’s Casa Dei Bambini 108 years ago there was a ‘normalization‘ that occurred. This classroom management accomplishment is what is primarily meant by the expression Dr. Montessori coined, “New Children are being born!”
