Not Easter Sunday yet.
Not resurrection.
Not celebration.

Today… is tension and confusion. Maybe even betrayal?

And I think a lot of us live right here in the middle.

Where we KNOW God has promised something…
But it hasn’t yet come to fruition.

Where things feel…
Unfinished
Unclear
Heavy.

But just because it looks like it’s falling apart
doesn’t mean God isn’t working.

Sunday IS coming, but don’t rush past today.
It’s part of the story.

There is something sacred and truly holy about trusting God in the messy middle.

I’m part of a women’s retreat happening tomorrow called Ember, and I just know there are women in my community who need space to come, learn, and get away from all the noise.

It’s about 40 minutes outside of College Station at Rock Lake. We’ll spend intentional time together in a small group with some incredible speakers, and you’ll be pampered with a four-course meal in a really beautiful setting—around women who get what it’s like to carry what you carry.

It’s simple, intentional, and just space to reconnect with the Lord and get grounded again.

Some of us have built entire identities on white knuckling.

I see it in my clients all the time.
And I see it in myself too.

Somewhere along the way we decided that our value comes from being able to grin and bear it. Push through. Handle it. Be the strong one. Get it done no matter what’s happening internally.

It’s part of our narrative as women. As leaders. As the ones who always show up.

But it’s hurting us.

Every time we override ourselves — when our body is saying no and we say yes anyway — we reinforce the belief that our needs don’t matter.

And that’s not strength.
That’s re-traumatizing ourselves.

There are practical things we can do. Boundaries. Rest. Nervous system work. Learning how to actually regulate instead of numb.

But the real starting point?

The belief that we have to keep doing this.

We don’t.

Rest isn’t empty calories. It’s not zoning out or collapsing at the end of the day. Real rest restores. It settles your body. It lets you exhale.

And sometimes the bravest thing you can do is loosen your grip and say no.

Not because you’re weak.
But because you’re finally listening.

in the mess,
the joy,

Some days I’m a barista.

Some days I’m a coach.

Both are true.
Neither defines me.

What I’ve been noticing in this season is how easily roles, productivity, or perception can quietly start shaping how we see ourselves—without us even realizing it.

Working in two very different spaces has reminded me of this truth:

Who I am doesn’t change based on what I’m doing or what others think of me…

and it doesn’t change for you either.

Our identity is anchored in who Jesus says we are—steady, unchanging, and secure.

Not in titles.

Not in output.

Not in how others read the room.

If today feels ordinary, unseen, or stretching you in a way you didn’t expect, remember this:

You are His.
Fully known.
Deeply loved.
Called with purpose.

If you’ve felt more overwhelmed, reactive, or “off” lately… you’re not broken.

Your nervous system is just carrying more than usual.

Here are three things that shift this time of year:
1️⃣ Your rhythms change — even the good disruptions still disrupt you.
2️⃣ Your emotional load increases — memories, expectations, finances, family dynamics… it piles up fast.
3️⃣ Your margin shrinks — less rest, more noise, more decisions.

Take a breath.
Your body isn’t failing you — it’s speaking to you.

Jesus doesn't rush and neither will you.
Slow down, get grounded, and let peace meet you right where you are.
