Top Left: There are two major issues in this photo. The hips are behind the landing foot. The foot strike is also heel dominant. This is often known as "heel striking". Heel striking is like trying to drive a car on the highway but always hitting the brake.
Top Right: Since the hips are in the wrong position and there is heel striking occurring it doesn't allow for optimal force to be produced as well as the necessary proper knee lift. The foot is not dorsi-flexed.
Bottom Left: The hips are now aligned with the foot strike. The foot strike is also mid-foot. This ensures proper push-off. Also, in this photo the free leg knee is ahead of the supporting leg.
Bottom Right: The proper hip placement and foot strike allows for proper knee lift. When running with top speed mechanics the knee should be ideally at hip height/or slightly below. The position of the foot is now dorsi-flexed.

⭐️Athlete: Nolan
⭐️Grade: 8th
⭐️Sport: Baseball
Left: (Day 1)
In this photo you will notice his torso is leaning forward which is forcing his hips to be behind his center of gravity. This hip positioning is not optimal for speed development.
Right: (Day 2)
The major adjustment in this photo is Nolan now has a “tall torso”. This minor but important shift now has his hips in a more ideal position!
In just 2️⃣4️⃣ hours Nolan improved his 40 yard dash time by almost 0.4 of a second. In just 40 yards this is fantastic improvement!
Keep GRINDING Nolan! 💪🏻
