🌱 May has been a wonderful & busy month for BCEF! 🌞
* Spring Carnival was moved indoors due to 🌧️ weather, though that didn't seem to keep anyone away. It was truly awesome to have so many people turn out for this special annual event.
Thanks to the gracious support of our Spring Carnival sponsors, local business, and community members, BCEF raised nearly $10K towards funding next year's grants! We are so grateful.💫
* 2026 grant recipients were recognized for their innovative submissions at the May 13 School Board meeting. Over $33,000 was awarded for projects proposed by dedicated Brunswick & District 10 public educators. BCEF is honored to provide them with this extra measure of support!

While today’s weather would have been ideal last Thursday for BCEF’s Spring Carnival, it was a wild (indoor) success! 🎡 ☔️
We are so grateful to the community members, students, educators, and our sponsors for making this possible. ❤️

A huge thank you to the members of 100+ Women Who Care Midcoast Maine who donated over $1000 to BCEF!
A recap of last nights amazing meeting:
We started with sandwiches from Sam's Italians and treats from Baked by Jenny while meeting new people, welcoming returning members and checking out the raffle. We had some great donations this quarter including donations from Five Islands Lobster, BiziBuns, Chickadee Art Studio, Blazzin Lion Jamaican Cuisine, Curtis Memorial Library, Chakras Nail Spa, Wilcox Wellness, Brickyard Hollow, Color Street Nails and craftsman Steve Buck.
Thank you to all members who donated items or helped gather items from local businesses!
We presented our impact donation recipient from last quarter (Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program) with a check for… $18,175!!!
Then we had the opportunity to hear from three local non-profits, We learned about New Mainers, which assists asylum seekers in Brunswick and works to support them in self-sufficiency. We learned about the Brunswick Community Educational Foundation which supplies additional funding to staff in the Brunswick and Voc 10 schools to do experiments and activities beyond their small allocated budgets, and we heard about Teens To Trails, which helps middle and high schools start programs to get kids outdoors and hiking. After a vote, our donations this quarter will support Teens to Trails.
Both New Mainers and Brunswick Community Educational Foundation will receive about $1000 in donations from our raffle and from our business sponsors (Mockingbird Bookshop, Maine Barn Company and the Law Offices of Joe Bornstein) and are eligible to be renominated at future meetings.
If you missed the meeting, please try to get your donations in as soon as possible. Checks for $50 (or more) can be made out to Teens to Trails and mailed to: Cindy Marsh, 53 Stagecoach Road, Woolwich, Me 04579.
If you would prefer to donate by credit card, you can do that on our Grapevine page.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our group and of local nonprofits. We do, indeed, live in a community of Women Who Care!
See you in September!
