Calling all high school seniors: the application for the 2027 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is NOW OPEN!

Elks Lodge will award 500 scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $30,000 over four years. No relation to the Elks is necessary to apply.

With this scholarship, students gain more than just financial aid—they gain an appreciation of service, a network of like-minded peers, and an for life.

A flat tire or expensive car repair can mean more than an unexpected bill for an household. It can lead to missed shifts, lost income or even the loss of a job that household depends on. In Haywood County, one in four households is ALICE, so transportation barriers can affect not only individual workers but also the workplaces and community that rely on them.

Fortunately, affordable transportation is available. Feonix - Mobility Rising's Catch a Ride program offers eligible Haywood County residents rides for just $1 per leg of travel.

Know someone who could benefit? Share this post or have them call 731-513-6398 to enroll and schedule a ride. Rides should be requested at least 72 hours in advance.

The United States Senate Youth Program is an incredible opportunity for student leaders to experience Washington, D.C., meet national leaders, and expand their understanding of public service. Two students from Tennessee will be selected to attend the 65th Annual Washington Week, March 6-13, 2027.
