We’re excited to welcome Briarcliff Manor UFSD Superintendent Jim Kaishian—alongside his staff and students—to the Opening Mainstage Panel at *Leading With Intention: AI in K-12* this July.

"Riding the AI Roller Coaster With Briarcliff’s Supe, Staff, & Students” is exactly what it sounds like: a real, unfiltered look at what it takes for a district to navigate AI together—in real time.

CITE has had the privilege of partnering with Briarcliff Manor UFSD and PNW BOCES on this work—supporting a community-informed process that brought students, educators, families, and leaders to the same table. The result? A shared AI Learning Framework & Playbook grounded in what their community actually needs.

Here’s what they found:
* Students are more sophisticated than the rules we’ve given them
* Teachers are more ready than we think
* Families don’t fear AI—they fear inconsistency
* Schools are often operating without a shared approach

This is the kind of work districts across New York State are navigating right now—and this panel brings it to life.

CITE's AI Academy has empowered NYCPS building and district leaders across the city with the skills to lead their communities with confidence and clarity in the age of AI.

CITE is excited to invite you and your leaders to AI Literacy for Education Leaders, a full-day in-person AI intensive on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM ET at CSA Headquarters, 40 Rector Street, 12th Floor, New York, NY.

This session is open to all NYC building and district leaders and offers 5 CTLE credits.

Register here: https://forms.gle/qb3Zy69CKpNrTm9e9

Space is limited - register now to reserve your seat.

POs and payments are not processed until July 1 (the start of the new fiscal year), so registering today holds your spot at no cost until then.

Secure your seat first, handle the paperwork when the 2026-2027 fiscal year opens.

Our core belief is that AI doesn't replace leadership; it helps leaders think faster and act earlier.

Participants will complete a brief AI leadership self-assessment and be placed into one of two groups:
1. Beginner AI Leadership Skills: Foundational modeling and guided practice for leaders new to AI
2. Developing AI Leadership Skills: Higher-level analytical, supervisory, and strategic applications for leaders ready to go deeper

By the end of the session, Building Leaders and District Administrators will be able to:
- Lead more efficiently without losing instructional focus using the AI Sandwich Strategy and other transferable skills
- Move from reactive to proactive leadership by applying AI to attendance, scheduling, supervision, and communication
- Strengthen supervision, feedback, and coaching by using AI to draft observation notes and identify instructional trends
- Model deeper learning as a leader by using AI as a thought partner for critical thinking and leadership decisions
- Translate NYCPS and NYS AI guidance into school-specific, actionable leadership practices to turn policy into action

We look forward to seeing you on July 15th, and feel free to share this within your professional networks.

Respectfully, Brett Roer
CITE Sr. Director of AI, Innovation, and PD

Already a School Counselor? Your Next Step Might Be LMHC.

You’ve built the skills—supporting students, navigating complex emotions, and working with families when it matters most. But what if your impact didn’t have to stop at the school doors?

More New York school counselors are adding Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credentials to expand their reach—into private practice, clinical settings, and beyond.

✔️ See clients outside school hours
✔️ Take insurance + build your own caseload
✔️ Do deeper clinical work that doesn’t fit into a school day

The catch? Most school counseling degrees don’t fully meet LMHC requirements.

That’s where a CAS pathway comes in—designed specifically to bridge the gap with the coursework and clinical experience you need, in a flexible and affordable format.

The demand for mental health professionals is growing—and you already bring the foundation.

Ready to expand your impact?

New York is redefining the path to school leadership — and the timeline is already in motion.

With new NYSED certification requirements and a hard 2030 cutoff, the longer you wait, the fewer pathways you’ll have.

If leadership has been on your mind, this is the time to move.

For over 30 years, CITE has helped NYC educators step into leadership roles through a program built for real working professionals:
✔️ Earn your SBL + SDL in as little as 19 months
✔️ Designed to fit your schedule — keep working full-time
✔️ Learn directly from experienced NYC school leaders
✔️ Join a network that includes 1 in 4 NYC principals

Opportunities like this don’t stay open forever. The sooner you start, the more options you keep.

Step into leadership — your next chapter starts now.
