As part of the AP Capstone Project, students were tasked with researching and working towards solving a societal issue. Senior, Demi P. has been working on advocating for the rights of members of the LGBTQIA+ community, emphasizing the need to address the rights of Trans individuals and highlight their contributions in society. As a way to spread awareness and educate others on the long lasting fight for equality, Demi organized a field trip to Stonewall National Monument where students were able to learn about the history of Stonewall, the events that lead up the uprising, and the achievements the protest movements resulted in. Thank you to all of our students for representing WCHS so positively and recognizing the power you have in helping make the future a better, kinder, and more accepting place.

In March, students in Ms. Burchett and Mr. Fuller’s Economics classes brought their business ideas to life during Advisory in our Shark Tank experience! From mobile services to jewelry, fashion, food, and music, students pitched creative ideas to a panel of staff “Sharks.”

We’re proud of their innovation, confidence, and real-world learning in action! 👏
