Fusion Academy in Brooklyn, NY opened in 2014 as Fusion’s 19th campus nationwide. Fusion Brooklyn is a private school where classes are one-to-one: one student and one teacher per classroom. Our Teacher/Mentors can personalize curriculum and pacing for their students’ strengths, interests, and learning style. Students may attend full-time for middle and high school or part-time with classes for credit, tutoring and mentoring, post-secondary counseling, and more. We offer rolling enrollment so students can start at any point, even mid-semester or mid-year.

In conventional schools, motivation often comes from external pressure — grades, competition, fear. But that kind of motivation is fragile. It exhausts students. 🥺

Real motivation comes from something else: knowing you have support. Knowing you can ask for help without judgment. Knowing someone is paying attention to whether you're actually succeeding.

When a student feels that, they stop pushing through obstacles and start solving them. And focus becomes possible.

When a student struggles in traditional school, the blame usually falls on the student. Lazy. Unmotivated. Not trying hard enough. 😵‍💫

But what if the problem isn't the student? What if it's that the system was never designed for how they learn? One lesson, one pace, 30 kids — that's efficient. But it's not effective for every learner.

For 11 years at Barnstable Academy, Jeff has been doing something rare: he's built a classroom where curiosity is contagious. Students leave his STEM classes still buzzing about experiments and discoveries.

But Jeff's impact ripples far beyond his classroom. He opens his door to colleagues. Leads professional development. Mentors teachers. Organizes the school events. And after the bell rings? He's hosting game nights, building community.

There was so much excitement on campus today as our students returned for the fall semester! We kicked off the 2026–27 school year with a waffle bar, lots of games, and plenty of smiles as students reconnected with old friends and made new ones!

🎓 Congratulations, Fusion Brooklyn Class of 2026! 🎉

Our graduation ceremony was filled with excitement, pride, happy tears, and unforgettable memories. From receiving custom Hawaiian leis, caps, and gowns to heartfelt speeches from lead mentors, students, and administration, it was a truly special celebration!

We were especially proud to make Fusion Brooklyn history as 8 seniors received the Student Achievement Award from New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, the first ever for our campus! We also celebrated Oriah and Milo, who were honored with the New York State Attorney General's Triple C Award for demonstrating Character, Courage, and Commitment.

Teacher Appreciation Week was a blast! We can’t thank our wonderful families enough for supporting our campus and treating our teachers to breakfast and lunch every day. From breakfast burritos, smoothies, sandwiches, sushi, pizza, parfaits, and so much more; every day felt special! We even fit in a night of shuffleboard at The Royal Palms!

Our DOE, Lori, also rolled around a treat cart twice a day filled with snacks, seltzers, and wellness goodies to keep everyone fueled and appreciated.

We are beyond grateful for the hard work, care, and dedication our teachers bring every single day. Thank you for all that you do! 💛🍎
