Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School (LAB) prepares students with the academic foundation, digital literacy, and leadership skills necessary to excel in college and professional life as they grow as ethical leaders. A college prep curriculum with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) focused enrichment activities to prepare students to succeed in jobs and industries of the future. Each s

tudent at LAB receives individual tutoring from trained college graduates for at least two hours every day. LAB has an extended day, week, and school year focused on academic learning and unique enrichment activities (Ex. LAB offers:
- A college prep curriculum to build productive, engaged, and active citizens.
- Co-curricular classes including Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Computer Science.

This week, we’re honored to recognize Mr. Grayson for the incredible impact he continues to make at Brooklyn LAB.

As our Summer School Principal and Lead Biology Teacher, Mr. Grayson goes above and beyond to ensure every scholar feels supported, challenged, and prepared for success. Whether he’s leading Summer School, hosting Regents prep sessions, partnering with families, or refining his curriculum for the year ahead, his dedication to our scholars never goes unnoticed.

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Grayson brings curiosity, kindness, and authenticity to our community. Fun fact: he’s lived in four different states, considers Florida home, plays the banjo, and never says no to a glass of sweet tea! 🍹

Staff Spotlight: Ms. Kidd

This summer, we’re shining a light on the incredible people who make Brooklyn LAB such a special place and Ms. Kidd is no exception.

As our Student Recruitment and Enrollment Manager, Ms. Kidd is often one of the first friendly faces families meet. Her passion for building meaningful connections and helping every student and family feel welcomed, seen, and supported reflects the heart of Brooklyn LAB.

From balancing work and family time this summer to preparing for another successful school year, Ms. Kidd continues to lead with purpose, dedication, and care. (And yes, she once rode an elephant in Zimbabwe and has been collecting elephant figurines ever since! 🐘)
