Team Member of the Month: Marshall Kupka-Moore, BA 🌟

Marshall (he, him), our Operations Lead and Facilitator, brings his expertise as a facilitator, speaker, and trainer specializing in professional development across cultures and organizations.

Before joining us, Marshall co-founded Source Wellness, a pioneering company in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Mindfulness, and Wellness. His credentials also include certification in Cognitively-Based Compassion Training and Vinyasa yoga. 🧘‍♂️📚 His unique approach, which blends academic insight and practical application, shone through during his time advising students at Emory University, where he explored the intersection of Buddhism and mind-body sciences in India.

We’re thrilled to have Marshall behind the scenes and working directly with clients as well!

Had an amazing time at the Social Emotional Learning Vendor Fair at Long Island University! 🎉 We showcased our educator- created and student approved Toolkits (i.e. gratitude and stress management), Student-Led Meeting resources, and resources. This was last school year, but we didn't get the chance to post and we're very proud of our table!!

Tip: Create an Inclusive Classroom Environment 🌟

Encourage students to explore and share their personal and social identities. This fosters a sense of belonging, builds empathy, and strengthens relationships within the classroom. Whether through open discussions, identity-based projects, or interactive activities, creating a space for students to express who they are helps cultivate a positive, inclusive learning environment.

PowerTools brought our Culture Cuisine Experience to the staff at Food + Finance HS! 🍽️✨ Through a fun, food-based competition, we explored and showcased two elements of the school’s core values: collaboration and CRSE. This delicious sculpture symbolizes collaboration, and we couldn’t be more impressed with the creativity of the incoming staff!

Leading a student-centered exploration of personal and social identities with Kingsborough Early College Secondary School was amazing!! PowerTools interviewed over 65 students about the importance of their multiple identities, and what they wanted staff to know about them. Then the staff gathered in a powerful end of year PD to watch students' videos, discuss and celebrate the power of identity. 🎓✨
