Crafting Cookware: Handbuilding and History with .j.cabral

THIS CLASS Join food artist Edward Cabral for an 8-week class exploring the history and craft of clay in the kitchen. Students will design and build multiple functional pieces like casserole dishes, pie plates, gelatin molds, and more. We’ll cover basic to intermediate slab and coil construction, relief sculpting, and decorative surface techniques. Short, informal lectures on cookware history and food culture will be woven into studio time. Leave with several oven-safe, functional pieces for your own kitchen, plus a deeper understanding of how and why we cook with clay.
