In the search for climate solutions, researchers have begun looking into geoengineering, or how we can intentionally manipulate the environment for our benefit. One way is to reflect sunlight by suspending aerosols in the atmosphere, reducing how much heat reaches the earth’s surface. Yet, the idea, like other geoengineering approaches, raises significant concerns due to uncertainties about its long-term environmental impact.
