We made a sad song, but no one is sad! We're just actors/musicians pretending!

Magical beasts, and where to find them.

Gwendolyn is such a special person. I feel like we are friends, colleagues (in ukulele, 🤷‍♂️), and like a sister to me. We can disagree and even quibble amiably, but only because of the nature of our relationship. It is so deeply seeded in a mutual adoration.

She has written a great song for us that we recorded together. It should be one of my greatest honors to do it justice. This is the first song that I have ever recorded and mixed completely by myself.

She has an exquisitely delightful soprano (high) voice. So I really tried to capture her brilliant highs while keeping the warmth of her lower harmonics.

The song pertains to a breakup in the context of a train (Q) line. Running into an ex on the subway is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. On the way to work, can you imagine? I don’t say that to disparage ex’s. We are all somebody’s ex. But the train is a neutral territory. Where you go along to get along. And the song touches so visually on that. The train (any train) stopping by where they used to work, lived, first date, last date. It’s haunting and beautiful at the same time.

Brava, Gwendolyn Fitz Music

Ya know what's crazy about social media? It's how I've met a lot of great ukulele players who have become such wonderful friends and collaborators! Ukulele Jake and I back in 2018 when I was putting together the 2nd Brooklyn Uke Fest. We've been working together ever since, and we've finally recorded a duet! Crazy how it took us that long! It's called 'Break It Off,' and it will be out this coming week!

An absolute embarrassment of riches it was to play at Lincoln Center last month!

The event was in support of . Which is a nonprofit organization that works is support of mental health.

My deepest gratitude to the virtuosic . She is a star that shines bright! She also tamed the 15 foot Steinway grand piano like I had scarcely seen ever before! I’d also like to thank chef, sommelier, and effervescent showman for recommending me!

Alongside me was one of nyc’s most exciting contemporaries:
