Mezzo soprano Anna Tonna and Classical Spanish Dance artist Anna de la Paz have enjoyed a 10 year collaboration both as performing artists and arts educators with Hispanic Society Library and Museum, Amigos de la Zarzuela, Between the Seas Festival and the Round Top Festival in Upstate New York. Always enjoyable to see our colleagues work and make new friendships! Our visit with at Grover Cleveland Hugh School in Queens was fun, enjoyed seeing the dance instruction to Afro beats, as high schoolers got a great start to their school day 🎹🎼 . Thank you to Clement Mensah! TIKORORO slogan is “two heads are better than one”. We couldn’t agree more 🙌🏻🪘🙌🏻

National Arts in Education Week was first observed in September of 2024.
Organized by organizations like Americans for the Arts and the Arts Action Fund, the week was a national movement to highlight the transformative power of the arts in education, advocate for equitable access for all students, and promote creative solutions for academic and personal growth.
Activities included engaging with elected officials, participating in social media campaigns, using , and accessing resources like toolkits, fact sheets, and webinars on arts education funding and policy.

We are proud to continue to feature the choreography of BALAM Dance Theatre as part of our Hispanic Heritage Month assembly “Music and Dances from the Spanish Americas”.
🌞BALAM Dance Theatre’s work is seen and enjoyed by audiences of all ages! Recently, Hispanic Culture Arts’ Anna de la Paz of Anna de la Paz Spanish Dance
and guest dancer Steven Jeltsch once again performed BALAM’s innovative work, Peruvian Dances from the 18th Century.
💃🕺This suite of dances was performed in the educational program, Music and Dance from the Spanish Americas, at the Benjamin Franklin Health & Science Academy, PS/IS 157 in Brooklyn, New York.⭐

Happy Dominican Heritage Month! We are thrilled to unveil our own and original school curriculum for NYC area schools 🗽 that celebrates folkloric music and dance from 🇩🇴. Thanks to an Arts Partnership Grant from the Office of Arts and Special Projects 🍎 PS396 and join in a series of workshops, starting with for 1st grade with ☀️with our outstanding faculty, dancer and percussionist 🪘 , both led this outstanding arts education curriculum. We enjoyed the full support of both the music and visual arts teacher at PS396X with instruments, and the construction of the Guloya festival hats by the 1st graders themselves.
