Congratulations to Jennifer Sears-Pigliucci, associate professor of English and co-coordinator of the minor in creative writing, on being named City Tech’s 2026–2027 Scholar on Campus. Recognized during the Scholarship Day celebration, Sears-Pigliucci was honored for her contributions to scholarship, creativity and research that enrich the academic life of the College community.

The event also recognized Shelley E. Smith, co-director of Faculty Commons, professor and former chair of the Department of Architecture, as City Tech’s inaugural Master Mentor.

Faculty and student winners from last fall’s research poster sessions, as well as new grant recipients, were also honored.

Reginald Blake, associate provost and dean, curriculum and research, stated, “This year’s prestigious ceremony was uniquely special as we, for the first time, highlighted the critical role and intersection of scholarship and mentorship. They are indeed inextricably linked, and celebrating both together aligned well and made for a richer, more holistic scholarship day event.”

Congratulations to all of the honorees!
