we might be two days out from our next talent show (!!!) and so stoked for what’s ahead… but we’re still thinking about and celebrating our talent from our january performance:

Jacob opened the night with mood saxophone, flute, and a little music theory moment. sonic grounding. instant vibe shift.

Tim Cerniglia character monologue that fully committed. frat bro… yeah.

Leanne Gallati original song that felt honest, warm, and quietly powerful. the kind you lean into.

Liza stand-up with sharp timing and zero fear. lots of abe lincoln discourse.

Jessica Bachansingh baton twirling that reminded us how mesmerizing skill + joy can be.

Ann Samuelson s**t storytelling. bold, hilarious, tastefully unhinged. crowd locked in.

Sarah Schreib original song that landed soft and strong. felt like a deep exhale.

Meredith Brandt musical comedy with heart and punchlines. theatre kid energy (the best way).

Brian Helfman smart, observational stand-up. big laughs, easy rhythm.

Emily Chertow orange-eating performance art?? chaos?? commitment?? loved the energy.

Max magic + mind-reading that made us gasp and side-eye our friends.

Luke yo-yo tricks and a powerpoint. precision, humor, great form.

this is what we really are doing it for! little you. Our sweet inner children!!!!! everything I do, share and create is to really take care of that younger version of myself! Check out these amazing younger self pics of some of our talent for this weeks show. Many of them foreshadowing what they are doing on stage as grown adults!!! Everything we do here is centered around play, joy and creativity. All of our programming is inviting in messy-ness, freedom and fun. All of these elements allow us to show up and tend to little us. I am grateful to create containers that allow us to run freeeeeee!!!!! And show up simply as we are. Let’s talk about honoring our inner child!!!! Talent Show is rooted in many things, but one of the major parts of it is welcoming in our younger selves and giving them all the love.
To lean into tending to our inner child with play and joy and silliness. Everyone in the audience was once a kid that maybe didn’t care if their hands were muddy as they played outside, or if the chord was off when they were in band practice. To heal our inner child is to let ourselves be free, to be playful, and to release any judgment of ourselves.

Each talent show I surprise people with a fun activation to let the audience lean into these elements!!!!! We love the parachute and getting playful and silly with it.

All of the talent on the stage was once a kid too, and still is!!! And we love to celebrate them and be loud for them. Last year, even two of our talents’ pictures of their inner child were doing in the picture what they were doing on the stage as an adult.

We had Max the magician and Jessica the baton twirler doing exactly those things in their pictures!
