Peace cranes project

We had a great trip taking the peace cranes down to DC to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. Such a simple but powerful message for our children to be a part of. Feeling grateful to be a part of this project and looking forward to continuing to spread the positive message of peace in our world.

We had an amazing day in Washington D.C. yesterday. Here are just a couple of photos of the peace cranes at the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. We shared the project with many, many, people, made new friends, and passed the cranes on to D.C. organizations that work with children, along with paper and instructions on how to fold their own!

Paper Arrives

Brookline is folding paper cranes! To give us and our children a way to voice a positive message of peace, people from all over town are joining together to fold origami peace cranes. The paper crane has a powerful association with peace, the welfare of our children, and the dangers of war. We believe that beyond whatever divisions exist, all politics must come from the foundational principles of peace, kindness, tolerance, and humanity.

What you can do to participate:
Fold Paper Cranes!
At home: We will have drop off bins at the Brookline Arts Center (86 Monmouth Street), Chobee Hoy Real Estate (18 Harvard Street), and Fire Opal (320 Harvard Street).
Come to a folding event:
Tuesday December 20th, 3-6 pm at the Puppet Showplace Theater
Wednesday January 4th, 3-6 pm at the Puppet Showplace Theater
Saturday January 7th, all day at Henry Bear’s Park
Saturday January 7th, 1:00-3:30 at the Brookline Arts Center

Encourage your school to participate! Speak to your child’s teacher or after-school staff. We can provide paper for classroom activities.

Spread the word! Join us on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Peace-cranes-project-1176915392345130/), hand out a flyer or organize a folding party with your friends!
We will bring these cranes to Washington DC for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, on January 16th, as a statement of peace and tolerance, and as a wish for all the world to focus itself on the most important things. We encourage everyone to join us, whether in school or at home. If you would like paper for your child’s classroom, please contact us.

A beautiful symbol, the paper crane has a powerful association with peace, the welfare of our children, and opposition to nuclear war. We believe that beyond whatever divisions exist, all politics must come from the foundational principles of peace, kindness, tolerance, and humanity.

We will bring these cranes to Washington DC for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, on January 16th, as a statement of peace, of opposition to nuclear war, and as a wish for all the world to focus itself on the most important things.

We are encouraging individuals, schools, and businesses to participate by folding cranes or hosting folding classes and events.
