Attend one of our action-based group that provides a safe environment for you to look at your old beliefs about dealing with loss...AND will change your LIFE! The Grief Recovery Method will give you the tools you need to effectively recover from loss as well as an opportunity for personal healing. The program was developed by someone who was going through loss himself so this is not just a theory,
but also a method that has worked for millions of people continuously over the past 35 years. Our Grief Support Group is an action-based group that provides a safe environment for you to look at your old beliefs about dealing with loss, which losses have affected your life, and take actions that will lead you to complete unresolved emotions that may still be causing you pain. This not a drop in group. You can choose an 8 week group format or a 7-week one-on-one format depending on your preference and availability. The groups are led by Simonie Levy and David Pritchard. Simonie and David met while attending the Certification training for the Grief Recovery Method. After completing the training, they decided to embark on the journey of bringing the Grief Recovery Method to those experiencing loss. Having both lived through different types of loss, they learned first hand the value in the Grief Recovery Method and how it supports people moving through their grief. Simonie’s journey with grief began in 2007 when her husband Mark was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away 8 months after his initial diagnosis. Simonie turned to counseling and groups to try and find some solace in her devastating loss. All these helped, but nothing seemed to guide or help her find ways to move forward with her life. She was given the book, The Grief Recovery Method, and after reading it decided that it seemed to have what she was looking for and attended a training with the organization. David’s grief journey has been multi-faceted having lost a brother, both parents, and a son, and moving through a divorce. He tried a multitude of methods of trying to cope with his grief including counseling, group therapy, and peer led support groups. After his son’s death, David began to search for more meaningful methods to cope with his grief. The ideas and practical methods outlined in the book, The Grief Recovery Method, resonated strongly. It was then that he decided to attend a training with this organization.
