Brookhaven Academy Robotics
The Brookhaven Academy Robotics Team (BART), is a robotics team in Brookhaven MS. We participate in the MSBEST and SOUTH's BEST competitions.

Last year, B.A.R.T. was awarded the "Caterpillar Teamwork Award."
An example of our teamwork occurred a week before competition. Julianna Mills, Director of Development, was injured playing soccer a week before the completion. Although she was disappointed she could not come, we made a temporary solution. Team members, Macey Lea, Marin Anding, Missy Clanton, Anna Narang, Makayla Martin, Gracie Malone, and Cameron Emory helped complete the booth. At Competition, Makayla Martin filled Julianna's place in the Marketing Presentation and Booth set-up. Teamwork is a large part of the BEST Competition! When we see one another or others from surrounding teams in need, we help as BEST as we know how! :)

At B.A.R.T., we are always recruiting! Glad to see students so interested in BEST! The picture to the left depicts Carter Culbertson, member of B.A.R.T.'s Engineering and Finance team, showing classmates and younger students how our robot accomplishes tasks!
"We are so thankful Brookhaven Academy gives us opportunities such as robotics to express our creativity and interest in science and engineering!"

Get ready for a makeover!!! This was our robot the night before the MSBEST Competition. We've decided to make some changes, so stay tuned to see the "after" post! :) here's the BEFORE shot:

B.A.R.T. is very proud of our Marketing Team's performance at the MSBEST Robotic Competition, October 2nd & 3rd.
We have just received our score sheets, and upon reviewing them, we were thrilled to hear the comments and corrections the judges gave us. One judge even claimed that HE would hire US! GO BA RoboticsTeam!!!! :)

A major part of the BEST Competitions is the Marketing Booth. The Director of Development, Julianna Mills, creatively and exquisitely designed our booth! She did a wonderful job and B.A.R.T. Is lucky to have her help! Each booth must show proof of the team's accomplishments and depict each year's theme. This years theme is PayDirt which is used to educate high school students on the difficulties engineer's and miner's face regularly.

October 2nd and 3rd was our first competition for the year! Overall, we did well! Our team was awarded "Founders Award for Creative Design." Finishing in 3rd place, B.A.R.T. qualifies to compete in the Regional competition at Auburn University in December! GO BA ROBOTICS!!!

B.A.R.T.'s Cheif Opperating Officer, Anna Narang made these awesome fliers! We have them hanging in various places all over Brookhaven Mississippi.
Lately, our team has been pulling some late hours trying to tie up some loose ends and prepare for our October Robotic Competition. Our boys' dedication is really beginning to pay off. The robot looks great, and we cannot wait to post its progress at the upcoming MSBEST Competition.

B.A.R.T. has the B.E.S.T. teachers of all! Thank you for all of your hard work, consideration, and love! Leslie Hood, Dorothy Leblanc, and Dr. Dianne Watson have dedicated a span of three months (honestly WAY more than that) to guide us in getting everything that we need done for competition. Thanks for keeping B.A.R.T. On track!

One thing we learned at the 2015 BEST Robotics Regional Conference this past July (from our "NERD" friends) is we should start with already known equipment designs. This Farmbelt equipment was brought to our school, Brookhaven Academy, to help us brainstorm ideas. It has inspired the arm for the robot and how it will work!
